St James Park, Hamilton

This single storey Masonry Villa, built by John S Macdonald Builders Ltd, features HotBloc construction, coloured concrete floors, and concrete benchtops throughout. It is an ideal example of how concrete can be used in modern construction, and what benefits can be achieved through its use.

Andrew Porter and his wife wanted to push the boundaries a bit with their fixtures, fittings and colour schemes. The sourcing of materials and blending of ingredients required a very high standard, resulting in a home that stands out from the crowd and is designed to challenge the thinking of visitors.

The home was a showhome for John S Macdonald Builders before the Porters took possession on 6 October 2002.
